Entrepreneurship is about Doing. Not Dreaming.
Entrepreneurship is more often than not, about doing what most people are not willing to do. And some of the hardest hurdles in transforming from sole to soul proprietor, is acknowledging that we can never do anything as a sole proprietor - this term for an entrepreneur in business, is deceptive at best.
We cannot do it alone.
Yeah, I’m talking about the ‘proverbial’ tenet that we need a team to build out the dream (and the legacy in this case). But I’m really referring here to a much deeper reliance at the root of our success that is solely responsible for turning your business into a legacy and your sole proprietorship into a Soul Proprietorship - with a capital S.
So how do we set up our lives to always win? I’m going to share my take on how, here.
If we’re to win the war and not just the battle, we have to play the long game of the wise and stop playing the fool’s shortsighted game.
There are two ways to assure you will lose, and one sure thing to win…..
1. Stop Playing NOT to Lose.
Stop playing not to lose and start playing to win. See the difference?
Playing not to lose puts you on permanent defence, where you’ll end up selling your soul to cut costs and cut corners, cutting yourself out of the race.
There’s a time to play defence but in the long game of legacy, you have to learn when to play defence and when to play offence. Most entrepreneurs are consistently on defence mode; which is brilliant for your competition - it burns life force, creative energy and money. But it’s a really bad investment as an entrepreneur.
Business Building Mindset Vs Biz Managing Mindset
Managers Manage Problems
Managers exist to sustain the status quo.
They uphold what already works even though it isn’t really working for anyone, including them.
They do what they’re told without question or critical thought
They, get their orders from an HR handbook and live in the defensive zone, scrambling frantically when something goes wrong.
This is the paradigm of ‘cut out the cancer and pray it doesn’t grow back’ - not really navigating from the authority, authenticity or innovation that is required to outwork, outbuild and outlast your competition,
They’re holding up a house on a hill in the midst of an earthquake and ready to die on that hill.
Innovators Master Perpetual Wealth Principles
Innovators burn to the ground what isn’t working so they can build what will, in perpetuity and on its own.
They understand repetition, delegation and automation.
They think outside of the parameters of the problem and they aren’t afraid to be the protagonist in the story that is the building of a successful legacy.
They take those risks with Christ governed calculation - they bet not he right horse.
They get their orders from Head-quarters - From The Head of all. From God. The CEO. And They’re obedient to their assignment under God, and in doing so, they create new paths off of the oldest and only business model known to never fail
and it ALL has to do with how we are governing our lives according to the laws and principles. See below. The innovators, aka leaders of future business in my opinion, are the ones holding up the house of God. They aren’t tired or tied down, because God is doing all the work.
2.Stop Playing to Beat the Competition
2 Corinthians 10:12
“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
If you’re playing to beat your opponent aka your market competition, you’re playing the fool’s game and the fools game is guaranteed to fail every time.
In my Legacy Business Course, I cover this under Proverbs, where Wise Vs Fools is the only game you should be worried about. There are only two kinds of people in business and you are one of them right now. Pick your side.
Seeking a Good time over a Long Time
When we seek the fleeting dopamine hit of ‘good’, we become addicts and addicts can’t run enterprises.
Seeking validation is the fool’s game.
We’re ignorant of what’s actually good so stop playing judge and jury by focusing on the feeling; our narrow interpretation of good as men and women has us neglecting what God knows is good for us and our businesses. What feels good now in the moment is NOT always good, as we KNOW if we’re reading this and over the age of 25. And what feels bad right now, is not necessarily bad FOR us in the long game.
You will always be able to find someone smarter, taller, wiser and better looking. But you will never find someone to fulfill the assignment God gave you. Problem is, you can’t find THAT, focusing on your competition - we can’t make our baseline for our worth the outside world and expect results because nothing is built from the outside - in… And while you’re distracted by the wrong things, your competition is gaining the lead.
Are you the Fool in The Flesh Business?
Are you the fool in the flesh business or are you the wise, minding your business in the spirit?
To focus on your competition is to feed the flesh over the spirit; the moment we shift our focus outside of ourselves and God, we create cracks in our armour where the enemy can get in, through deception and confusion…
“The whole secret lies in confusing the enemy, so that he cannot fathom our real intent.”
~ Sun Tzu, The Art of War
So, if you’re not playing to BEAT the competition, and you’re not playing to GET beat by the competition, then what game are you playing?
This is where the wheat and tare get separated;
where the real entrepreneurs remain upright and the wannabe entrepreneurs blow away in the wind; its where the wise entrepreneurs blow past the fools. Because the game of entrepreneurship is not for the weak of mind or heart. And the weak in mind and heart are focused on external validation over internal victory.
Fraudulent Investment
If you’re struggling in entrepreneurship, I can almost guarantee that you have invested. bought into a lie about who you are and why you’re here, and that investment has no return. And no entrepreneur invests without the probability of sound ROI.
The Birth of The Soul Proprietor: Owning your Identity
Are you following the pack into futility? Or ‘are you following the orders coming from headquarters?’
This is about owning your identity and no longer being confused about who you are.
If you’re paying attention to the cult-ure we live in, you know that one of our greatest points of suffering is not knowing
who we are (identity) ,
why we’re here (assignment) or
where we’re going (Roadmap).
This is a direct result of a disconnection from our Original Identity. We are a world living in the flesh that has separated from God and separation from God is separation from
Our Self (identity, who) and
Our Assignment ( Why) which comes
Our Roadmap (Where).
Seeking to be assured and as surety
In the business and life quest for unquestionable assuredness - In our direction, actions and outcomes - we’re asking others to become surety for our soul proprietorships.
Surety in the bible means “ one who becomes responsible for another.”
Surety in business means “ : one who has become legally liable for the debt, default, or failure in duty of another.
Proverbs 17:18
“A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.”
In the context of this proverb, the hands are clasped to guarantee financial backing for a friend with poor credit. (Poor credit can be translated as poor knowledge, wisdom, understanding and identity).
The Debtor Trap: Creating Debt through Seeking Surety from Your Competition
A surety is a guarantor. The fool guaranteed his friend's debts by shaking the creditor's hand and promising to pay if the friend does not. And The Bible tells us not to become one for a neighbour. Nor should we ask our neighbours to become one for us.
Seeking a guarantee or surety from the external world
creates guarantors and sureties. The Bible advises us not to borrow anything as the borrower then becomes the salve to the lender.
You can’t borrow a guarantee from another man without creating a debt
in your own business. This directly applies to going outside of God to secure (create surety) for your worth and thus, your wealth.
Therefore, you also cannot borrow conformation or confidence from your colleagues or competition.
How Future Business Empires Will be Measuring Success
The future of good business is God’s business and God’s business is one of building legacy, founded in His laws for fool-proof, fail-proof success, riches, blessings AND protections, for your business AND your family - both of which can and will not be separated any longer.
So, how will these future empires and heir-builders measure success? They don’t look around them to see how they’re doing.
They look up.
3.How to Guarantee a Win in Business
You stop playing to win and yo start playing to get wise. You lay to get better at the thing you’ve been assigned to build a soul proprietorship around.
Play to grow. Play to become more of who God requires you to be to fulfill the assignment He gave you. Play to get closer to God and to bring others closer to God. Play to serve.
Success is not measured on a scorecard. That’s the small game. Success is measured on the fruit of the spirit - it’s measured by whether you were able to become the person who can consistently and diligently do the things required of you to have the blessings that come with becoming and then doing. This is the long game of legacy.
Its
BE. DO. HAVE.
It’s not
HAVE. BE. DO NOTHING. COMPARE MYSELF THEN PLAY THE COMPETITION.
Foolish Vs Wise Leaders
False/Foolish leaders want to succeed to be served.
True/Wise leaders are successful because they serve others
False/Fool leaders have saviour complexes + want to control others lives.
True/Wise leaders have The Saviour, Christ + want to save others lives, through Him.
False/Foolish leaders Are outside > in focused with their front of house under little g.
True/Wise leaders Are inside > out focused with their front of house under Big G.
**This gets into the real time transference of Biblical law to practical business law - jurisdiction of business, public vs private and more. I cover this inside my private Substack space in greater detail.
To sum it all up for you, Wise entrepreneurs and leaders practice while others compete.
Your Litmus Test for Fail Proof Success
Are you familiar and sound enough in your true identity - “I don’t need God, I KNOW who I am!” - that if nobody EVER recognizes you for a single thing you do, you will without question, stay committed to that identity?.
This is the ONLY game you can win.
